What You Will Do:
This position is responsible for managing Information Technology needs for projects primarily initiated by Facilities and Construction Services. Projects include, but are not limited to new and renovation construction projects, physician practice activities, departmental moves, and installation of technology solutions across the organization. The position consults, analyzes and participates in facility design and modification projects with Valley Health, including significant project management oversight as it relates to coordinating IT resources and tasks. A thorough understanding of all IT services and the ability to match those services with the needs of the business is an important aspect of the position. A general understanding of hardware technologies and clinical/business applications is needed, including end-user device technology (PCs, All-in-Ones, thin-client), printers, phones, mobile devices and which to use within the workflow.
The program manager, with the help of various IT teams, identifies needed IT infrastructure and services for new and existing facilities, works with contractors (cabling, carrier, construction, vendor), communicates and coordinates IT activities in conjunction with the construction schedule. The position handles multiple priorities so proficient use of collaboration tools to document the project is needed. Creating and assembling budgets for IT costs is required for many projects. Managing scheduling conflicts and timelines, balancing needs, setting accurate expectations, understanding the details are needed skills. Analysis paralysis must be avoided to keep things on track. The position interfaces with many people across the organization - proficient people skills with high level of communication and negotiation are important. Providing updates during team meetings is a requirement of the position. Significant oversight of cabling contractors. May be involved in actual move activities. High level of travel required. Attends many meetings.
Other duties include:
Communicates the impact of expansion and change to IS Staff and solicits feedback regarding impact to down stream IT systems. • Develops and implements a bid process for large projects. Works to refine RFP process to assure fair bid and winning bid processes. • Compiles accurate budget estimates using multiple versions of blue prints in conjunction with Facilities Department and architects for Valley Health plus meetings with end-users. • Attends all IS-Facilities meetings and acts as liaison reporting back to IS management on open & escalated issues. • Ensures cabling contractors are installing to specifications, on-time, and on budget. Manage cable contractors day-to-day work load. • Communicates plans and tasks with Facilities, contractors, and customers. •Participates in project execution, including moves and installs, and ensures customer’s needs are met. Coordinates and prioritizes open issues. • Analyzes and coordinates the logistical functions of space planning for new and existing facilities – for IT/IS and telecom needs. • Works to assure that detailed project requirements for phone, network equipment, telecom needs, infrastructure, cable plant and device counts are documented and included in facilities estimates for IS.
What You Will Bring:
Bachelors Business or Information Systems strongly preferred.
Ten (10) years experience in Information Systems required.
Five (5) years experience in healthcare strongly preferred.
Five (5) years of technical (network/server/voice/PC) engineering experience preferred.
Two (2) years Information Systems management experience strongly preferred
Ability to work independently while representing numerous areas of Information Systems required
Strong organization, analytical and communication skills required
Comfortable using collaboration tools like ServiceNow, SharePoint required
Experience with MS Excel, Word, Visio required
