What you will be doing

Under direction of the Transportation Services Service Owner, the Product Manager - Transportation Systems, will act as an expert over the organization's Transportation Management Systems, notably MercuryGate TMS and its related applications. The Product Manager will work closely with Business Stakeholders in the various enterprise Transportation spaces, Commercial Operations, IT/Business Relationship Managers, and the Vendor to support existing, define new, and enhance existing product offerings. The Product Manager is responsible for coordinating activities related to transportation management tools and services across the Transportation and other IT teams to design, develop, test, and deploy solutions that align with business strategy. The Product Manager is accountable for all aspects of new and existing Transportation Management Systems including providing definitions and costing, service reviews, and reporting of service performance metrics. The Product Manager will also fill the role of Transportation Service Manager and mentor other team members.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

•Manage Transportation Management activities across Business, Relationship Management, Governance, Security, Service Delivery, and Service/Product Management stakeholders to maintain existing and deliver new offerings.

•Quantify new offerings and enhancements including scope, schedule, and budget and facilitate through the approval process.

•Manage the requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and on-going management of the Transportation products.

•Ensure projects, services, and offerings adhere to ITSM and prescribed SDLC processes

•Address issues and implement corrective actions for existing offerings and participate in Business Continuity events.

•Provide Quarterly Service Reviews and SLA performance to Business Stakeholders and Relationship Managers.

•Define costs and report service metrics for products and services listed in the Service Catalog.

•Support the Service Owner in evaluation of new opportunities and technologies.

•Mentor Transportation Services resources.

•Contribute to the SLA negotiation with the Business.

•Recommend changes in the customer organization’s use of the services and offerings supplied.

•Negotiate Operational Level Agreements in cases where the service owned is dependent on other service groups within the IT organization.

•Responsible for managing the Service Catalog for Transportation Management services and technology offerings.

 

What your background should look like

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

•10 years of IT work experience with four years working as Senior Business Analyst, or Product Manager, preferably in a global logistics or supply chain environment.

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•Subject matter expertise in both the business and technology for transportation and logistics.

•Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is a plus.

•Skilled in conflict management.

•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field preferred.

•Experience working with MercuryGate TMS is a plus.MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:•Proven ability to identify, set, and meet Business expectations.

•Strong ability to prioritize work load, consistently meet deadlines, and take the appropriate level of independent action when necessary.
