Information Services at Vidant Health
Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.
The Information Services (IS) Director of Population Health and Analytics is a seasoned clinical and business professional who has significant subject matter experience in defining and developing analytic and population health strategies that align with organizational strategic priorities. The position requires a high level understanding of healthcare financing as well as health care delivery and the ability to think strategically and offer innovative solutions to complex challenges.
The IS Director Population Health and Analytics partners with the IS Director, Analytics and Integration to develop and implement the analytics roadmap for VH, as well as drive the implementation of the Vidant Health population health strategy. This professional is results oriented, multi-disciplined, and comfortable directing and implementing large organizational initiatives that support analytics and population health.
The IS Director of Analytics and Population Health has overall responsibility for vendor management as related to population health technology tools, and ensures alignment of tools to achieve maximum ROI. This position is accountable for forming key partnerships both internally with key business partners, as well as externally with state and national initiatives as related to population health. This professional is responsible for staying abreast of present and emerging market trends as related to population health, and bringing this information forward into actionable planning and execution. The IS Director works with the CIO, CMIO, and VP of Clinical Informatics as well as other executive leaders to strengthen and develop population health strategies and tools to improve value based outcomes, patient experience of care, and cost of care delivery.
Bachelors degree in clinical discipline required (nursing or other healthcare professional)
Masters Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or relevant experience
3-5 years related experience in a similar population health or analytics role. In depth knowledge of healthcare delivery and alternative payment models.
Experience in quality improvement, healthcare data analysis, and clinical outcome management
Exceptional leadership, management and facilitation skills.
Must be able to work in a highly matrixed organization and be able to build consensus across multiple constituencies.
Ability to think strategically, analytically and tactically.
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills in order to influence results and manage relationships and influences within and outside the organization.
Proven track record of accountability and results.
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills, required.
