The Network Engineer role is the second level of a three-level career path within the Network Engineer job family. The Network Engineer is accountable for complex configuration, installation, diagnosis, and administration of network management software, hardware, and communications to support the enterprise, large-scale LAN/WLAN/WAN. With limited direction from senior engineer and manager, this position performs network engineering functions including assisting with design; configuration; installation and optimization of hardware and software for multiple-site networks; uses and configures network management systems to monitor, diagnose, control, and measure performance of enterprise communications networks; and performs complete assessments of customer needs to remediate issues and implement changes through network reconfiguration or expansion.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Extensive working knowledge of 802.x networking protocols and experience with routing and switching technology.
Minimum 2 year college degree in Information Technology or related discipline, or applicable work experience.
Minimum of four years of experience installing and managing data networks.
Strong knowledge of computer networking and platforms.
Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
