IT Manager I, State Automobile Property & Casualty Insurance Company, Inc., Columbus, OH. Manage, mentor, and develop employee resources for an IT unit. Support customer groups and areas using products and services developed or supported by the unit. Interact with PMO and IT business office to help develop and apply State Auto project management best practices.
Assess the stability and lifecycle of all applications within the area to maintain the core services required and protect the ongoing viability of the function. Provide regular updates and progress reviews with management and customers for the IT area. Plan, organize, assess, and direct the work of supervisors and direct reports for the unit.
Manage resource planning for the team. Develop and review annual operational budget for unit. Utilize advanced management, leadership skills, and systems/operational knowledge to analyze, promote, and ensure compliance with company standards. Collaborate with internal customers, the PMO, and other IT teams to provide systems advice, clarify requests, manage delivery expectations, and transform specifications into accurate, efficient running solutions in alignment with customer and company priority.
Acquire, train, mentor, develop, grow, and manage team members, following Human Resource policies and procedures. Requirements Requires Master's degree in computer science or related field plus 36 months of progressive experience in a supervisory or leadership role (or Bachelor’s degree plus 60 months).
Also requires: in-depth level understanding of system components, software development lifecycle processes, company and unit operational expectations and accountabilities; excellent change management and leadership skills; knowledge of operational standards and procedures, regulatory and technical standards, and an advanced knowledge of industry and technical trends; excellent planning and problem analysis skills enabling them to provide IT solutions and recommendations that may span multiple IT units or areas; in-depth knowledge of Automation and Performance Testing tools and practices; and understanding of Guidewire application.
