Responsibilities:

  • Direct, coordinate, and ensure implementation of all tasks related to technical, infrastructure, standards, and integration of technology into every facet of district operations., including leading large, complex, enterprise-wide projects through all project lifecycle phases. 
  • Meet project goals while adhering to established project methodology and governance standards and procedures.
  • Work closely with the executive team and stakeholders to develop a shared vision with long-term, big-picture perspectives on district goals to plan for meaningful and effective uses of technology; provide leadership when creating a vision of how technology will help meet district goals.
  • Have a high-level view across the school system and work with instructional and technical teams to identify steps needed to transform the technology vision into a long-range plan, complete with specific goals, objectives, and action plans.
  • Assist in the optimization of resource allocation, specifically around projects support teams
  • Prepare reports for upper management regarding project status.
  • Plan and facilitate team meetings, working sessions and communicate output of such.
  • Development and facilitation of change management plans/actions.
  • Be the liaison between nfrastructure and the School District, technical, and other project team meetings.
  • Serve as escalation point for issues beyond project team authority; resolves conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical issues.
  • Communicate with clients to assess satisfaction levels with products and services.
  • Participates in School District meetings as needed to develop new and grow existing business opportunities.
  • The IT Manager will also be expected to set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Promote and lead the implementation of industry best practice methodologies, tools, and programs (e.g., TCO, ITIL, SDLC, Baldrige) in support of technology
  • Manage IT Service Levels and Operational Requests from the School District
  • Manage configuration, deployment and support of sites laptops and desktops
  • Configure and support all printers
  • Provide support for Google For Education.
  • Assist with the administration of a Google MDM and provide configuration and technical support for a variety of mobile communications devices.
  • Support software deployment practices, Ghost, software virtualization, Active Directory Group Policy and other similar technologies.
  • Create and maintain all standard personal computer images to ensure compatibility with company standards which includes the maintenance of the image library and image server.
  • Preserve the secure integration of client computing devices through the creation of SCCM packages and logon scripts for software distribution and patch management.
  • Responsible for the implementing and updating of all client systems and software applications.
  • Monitor Windows client and desktop applications and troubleshoot problems.
  • Support, maintain and administer third party applications.
  • Produce appropriate documentation for application deployment, configuration, and related processes.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing and response.
  • Install and configure Windows server hardware and software, to include physical and virtual servers, Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, and VMware.
  • Develop sound practices that guide, articulate, and inform the organization of risk management strategies and risk mitigation in support of business and instructional initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years’ experience with business consulting, MBA preferred or equivalent educations, training or experience.
  • Knowledge of: strategic planning techniques; effective collaboration skills; existing and emerging technologies; interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working within Secondary Education environments preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while staying aligned to the project objectives.
  •  Use of decision-making rules; time-management skills; organizational skills; big picture awareness; systemic planning skills
  • Knowledge of techniques to manage the change process; cultural context of change; role of professional development in change process; techniques for communicating need for change, direction, and destination (successful accomplishment of vision); facilitating change
  • Experience and success in managing service level agreements
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Proficient with Active Directory, GSuite, File & Print, VM Ware and Server Support.
  • Experience in networking and VOIP support.
  • Ability to work and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project/Smartsheet
  • Ability to convey complex technology concepts in familiar terms to nontechnology staff
  • Continued self-directed learning to stay up to date on latest trends in technology and education to better support the district
