Job Description

As a Big Data Software Engineer at Micron Technology Inc., you are a key member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and growing Micron's methods and systems for extracting new insights from our expanding data streams. You will collaborate withvarious roles and teams across the enterprise to design and implement systems to extract data and insights from Micron's manufacturing, R&D and engineering systems, transforming it into an actionable format, and as needed, creating dynamic presentation layers for use by high-level engineers and managers throughout the company.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Design, develop, code, test, enhance and debug ETL packages, stored procedures, and data flows.
  • Participate in design, development, and deployment of Data Warehouse data models.
  • Collaborate with business partners and other IT teams to ensure high quality data solutions are delivered.
  • Troubleshoot operational escalations and resolve business partner issues in a timely manner with strong collaboration and care for business priorities.
  • Document existing and new work performed.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Development skills with Java, Python, Scala, or other languages
  • Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Hive, HBase, Spark, Kafka, NiFi)
  • Experience with relational databases (Teradata, MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL)
  • Proficiency with development tools (Git/SVN, Artifactory, Maven, Jenkins)
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify and implement solutions
  • Ability for minimal, international travel

Education:

B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
