WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: The Supervisor of Business Applications oversees up-to two squads in an Application Portfolio within the organization responsible for the management and delivery of technical solutions. Customer focus is critical to this role where you will align with business partners to deliver viable software on a continual basis. You will have had a successful track record supervising software development teams with the ability to manage directly and by influence. Ideal candidates will be able to be hands-on and directly contribute to the successful execution of the team's initiatives. Your objectives are to understand the technology requirements of your portfolio, and to lead agile teams to proactively meet these needs. Supervisory Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of up-to 15 employees andcontractors focused on specific applications inportfolios ofEstablish a culture of professionalism, collaboration, customer service, and a "can-do" attitudeCarry out supervisoryresponsibilities in accordance with BHHC’s policies and applicable laws.Provides effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary.Accomplishes staffing and development objectives by recruiting, training and coaching employees.Validates and tracksemployee performance using effective leadership, mentorship, oversight and monitoring to ensure consistency, accuracy, productivity and adherence to objectives

Skills Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in software development, business analytics, operating systems, security, or infrastructure management with strong business process background
  • 1-2 years of supervisory positions managing teams comprised of Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Software Engineers, QA Analysts, and/or Business System Analysts.
  • Prior experience managing budgets and developing cost/benefit analysis for business and IT projects.
  • Broad system management background with cloud-based application solutions to include Microsoft technologies
  • Understanding of development concepts and languages such as C#, JavaScript, HTML, .NET, SQL Server, TFS, Visual Studio, Azure, and SaaS based applications, etc.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Agile development lifecycles
  • Insurance industry experience with Policy Administration, Underwriting and/or Claims Management, Worker's Compensation experiencepreferred
  • Ability to handle long-term projects and urgent tasks seamlessly
  • Experience working with customers to explain their options for the selection of service management tools and the integration thereof
  • Ability to think critically and adapt quickly in a flexible and dynamic environment

  • Prior experience managing departmental scorecards; prior knowledge of OKRs & KPIs is preferred.
  • Prior experienceworking with third party software and service providers

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4 year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields is required.
