IT Audit Manager

Framingham, MA

Duties: Oversee IT audits performed in conjunction with our financialaudit objectives with a focus on Information Technology general controls, information technology operations, and data privacy. Responsibilities include: reviewing audit work, drafting auditreports, ensuring proper training and development of staff, participating in new hire reviews, and writing/updatingaudit programs. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work independently and supervise staff while performing audits in the areas of: IT general controls, IT operations, system implementations, data privacy, integrated financial statement audits, and third party due diligence reviews; present findings, as needed
  • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings
  • Assist with the development of auditbudgets and perform budget to actual analyses
  • Prepare audit programs for use by the audit team, and estimate time requirements
  • Collect and analyze data in order to assess effectiveness of control and/or to detect control deficiencies, where applicable
  • Examine and evaluate controls over financial and information systems to ensure reliability and data integrity
  • Conduct pre implementation audits to determine if systems and programs under development were developed in conformance with our information management policies with the appropriate control processes
  • Train staff on IT processes and audit methodology, ensure auditors understand assignment, comprehend audit programs and are aware of the budgeted time allocations
  • Review work, findings and recommendations for accuracy, adequacy and presence of sufficient supporting documentation. Ensure that project work papers are assembled, maintained, and filed correctly
  • Inform others of audit progress, highlighting problem areas and recommending appropriate action
  • Function as a point of contact for assigned audits: coordinating scheduling, addressing concerns, and presenting status, as applicable
  • Perform administrative tasks related to staffing, and interview candidates as needed
  • Up to 20% domestic travelforbusinessmeetings.

Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a directly related field plus four (4) years of experience as an IT auditor at a large external audit firm, which includes experience in each of the following areas (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Performing external SOX IT General Controls integrated audits across the following domains: Logical Access, Change Management, and Computer Operations
  • Performing audits that include system implementation, automated control, and segregation of duties testing
  • Writing IT auditreports
  • Using formatting, logical, and calculation functions in Microsoft Excel

Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently to the requirements listed above):

  • Supervising others when performing audit engagements, including training staff on IT processes and audit methodologies, ensuring that auditors understand assignments, comprehend audit programs and are aware of the budgeted time allocations

Must have at least one of the following certifications: CISA, CPA, or CRISC.
