IT ASSET MANAGER Job Descriptions:
Asset Management processes, policies, and procedures are in place to meet regulatory, operational, audit and reporting requirements related to Hardware and Software Asset Management. Administer the I.T. Software Asset Management program including processing, reconciling, auditing and correcting I.T. asset transfer documentation.
Provide additional program and project leadership and support for ad hoc assignments as required within the Department.
Management Experience (Years and Area): 2 years supervisory/management experience
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contract), Writing /Composing Correspondence, Writing /Composing Reports

The IT Asset Manager will work under the guidance of the Business Administrator for the Division of Technology Services on building out and maintaining a sustainable IT Asset Management capability. He/she will be responsible for improving the IT Asset Management program, policies and best practices. The Manager will also be expected to deliver ways to provide continuous improvement and risk mitigation while managing all software and hardware assets across the Department. The Manager is responsible for planning, designing, implementing and operating processes, procedures and standards to meet the evolving IT asset management needs of IT and the organization. This position will work closely with leadership and key stakeholders across the Department to develop defined processes around asset management strategy and compliance. The Manager will lead a team and provide ongoing management, coaching and support to his/her team.

Some responsibilities include:
? Work with leadership and key stakeholders to develop a sustainable IT Asset Management process and system that will redefine how we manage hardware and software assets across the Department. Understand the current business model, key decision makers and influencers by partnering with the business to ensure compliance with policies and process
? Work with IT stakeholders to ensure proper understanding and usage of software licenses to ensure adherence to agreements. Also partners closely with IT Procurement and stakeholders at time of licensing/maintenance renewals to ensure the Department is ?right sized? for licensing and hardware needs.
? Monitors new projects and assists with ensuring that existing assets used to substantiate the ROI are disposed of properly as well as partner with accounting to ensure new assets are properly recorded on DES? books. Partners with DES finance entities to ensure accuracy in the WASP system.
? Build, Support, and Develop a high performing IT Asset Management team that will partner with key stakeholders across all DES divisions to achieve Best in Class ITAM processes and allow the larger Procurement organization to realize its vision of becoming a sought-after business partner.
? Influences long-term supplier technology and resource direction towards DES? needs. Uses depth of knowledge to gain insights which produce competitive advantage. Demonstrates the ability to create and manage complex relationships. Creates alternate/back-up approaches for high risk issues. Consistently achieves competitive advantage/beneficial outcome in complex negotiations.

? B.S. or B.A. in Accounting, Business, Computer Science or related field.
? 2+ years in an IT Asset Management, IT Procurement, or similar type role within IT
? 2+ years supervisory/management experience
? Demonstrated ability to define and implement new processes and the software solution to support them.
? Proven experience with procurement, pricing, inventory and tracking of computer products and with budget planning and tracking.
? Detailed knowledge of server, data/voice network, and desktop hardware and software operating system and peripheral technologies required.
? Detailed knowledge of software licensing methodologies.
? Effective relationship building skills and ability to partner with stakeholders and colleagues.
? Strong understanding of application, network, operating system, database and core infrastructuresecurity concepts. Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills. Strong problem solving and planning skills. Activates internal and external networks to leverage geographic and functional synergies.
? Ability to work with senior management to develop key strategies at local, regional and global level.
? Able to develop and drive holistic and multi-year strategies across industries and categories.
Strong managerial skills with proven success in talent development.
