Specific Responsibilities:

The IT Analyst Senior – Contracts Administrator, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s IT Strategy & Planning team at the company’s Houston, Texas, office reporting to the Senior Manager of IT Strategy & Planning.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Provide assistance in maintenance of master vendor list, sourcing activities and contract management and negotiation;
  • Participate in sourcing events and manage on-going vendor relationships;
  • Serve as a first escalation point for IT vendor management and sourcing issues; and
  • Lead vendor audit efforts and act as liaison between application owners and vendors throughout audit.

The role will include support of the following activities:

  • Support the vendor on-boarding process;
  • Manage the review and negotiation of all IT vendor agreements;
  • Leverage agreements, and consolidate multiple agreements to improve pricing and increase efficiencies;
  • Coordinate gathering of IT-related materials to support litigation if required;
  • Maintain vendor contract repository and history, including vendor information & contact list;
  • Ensure vendor compliance to agreement terms and conditions, company policies, standards, etc.;
  • Participate in vendor-sponsored events which focus primarily on future products and services, industry trends, vendor strategic direction and similar topics;
  • Coordinate and assist in the IT RFP process;
  • Facilitate periodic vendor briefings with internal staff to discuss new products and services;
  • Meet regularly with internal staff to keep apprised of strategic direction and how it would be supported by current and future vendor relationships;
  • Routinely evaluate internal and external Service Level Agreements to identify areas of improvement;
  • Drive continuous process improvements to deliver increasing operation efficiency in all business partner processes;
  • Facilitate resolution of escalated IT vendor issues;
  • Monitor stakeholder satisfaction and vendor score-carding;
  • Collaborate with IT groups to ensure vendor partners are effectively managed and contracts are fully leveraged; and
  • Establish and monitor results against goals and proactively review vendors to preempt customer dissatisfaction.

Job Qualifications

Professional Qualifications & Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent;
  • Typical relevant experience 7-10 years, including at least 3 years of managing customer relationships;
  • 5+ years of experience in leading vendor management team including experience in contract negotiation, vendor performance management, preparing and evaluating Requests for Proposal (RFP), relationship management and strong understanding of project management methodologies;
  • Strong knowledge of contractual terms and agreements with demonstrated proficiency in authoring, reviewing, and negotiating vendor contracts;
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills;
  • Ability to identify need for and develop, standards and supporting materials;
  • Proven ability to establish priorities, develop measurable objectives, work independently, and lead the team to successfully meet or exceed objectives;
  • Capable of taking innovative approaches to problem solving; and
  • Strong, positive interpersonal skills.
