ISS Payload Rack Operations Technical Lead

Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Payload Rack Operations Technical Lead is a first level manager who is responsible for the oversight of the activities of the Payload Rack Officer (PRO) Specialist Teams related to the technical aspects of the International Space Station’s (ISS) onboard support systems that support payload operations. This includes ensuring that all technical forums have appropriate participation from the team, reviewing of the technical content of system and rack upgrades, participating in special studies, leading troubleshooting activities, assisting in instruction and training of new personnel as well as proficiency and currency training for certified personnel.
The PRO Technical Operations Lead will also perform management/administrative tasks such as weekly report inputs, staffing planning to support contract management reviews, process weekly timesheets for the employees in the PRO Technical Operations group, and employee performance evaluations. This position will participate in the weekly Space Systems Operations Management Team meetings to provide status team status and elevate issues that need to be addressed to the Space Systems Operations Branch management. The PRO Technical Operations Lead must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the PRO flight controller position.
Education and Experience:
Requires a B.S. degree in a recognized field of engineering, plus approximately two (2) years professional experience performing analysis, design, and/or test assignments.
Must hold a current Payload Rack Officer (PRO) flight controller certification
Minimum of 3 years experience in realtime support of ISS payload operations
