Job Description

The Lead Business Analyst will lead process improvement projects supporting the SGS East regions such as Medical (Configure 2 Order), Instruments (Make 2 Stock).  With a strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain processes, including planning, scheduling, manufacturing, inventory, cost accounting, logistics – the Lead BA will work and build confidence with Senior Management on strategic improvements that can bring considerable value to Stryker’s SGS plants. 

The Lead Business Analyst is a partnered liaison between the business and the technical teams, understanding business needs and processes. The Lead Business Analyst will be responsible for providing knowledge and expertise to IS (IT), business teams and process owners in identifying opportunities for technology and supporting prioritization. The successful candidate will build strong collaborative relationships with the specific teams with Stryker Global Quality Operations (GQO) teams and is responsible for understanding business processes, eliciting and documenting requirements, and coordinating communication among various business groups and IS (IT) technical teams.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain strong relationship with the Divisional teams and functional teams across Med Surg / Instruments divisions.
  • Serve as key IS liaison at Medical to ensure deployment and management of systems such as ERP, MES and other Manufacturing applications.    
  • Partner with business and technical teams to drive consensus on the best solution to business problems and the delivery of new solutions and enhancements.
  • Work with a diverse business community to document as-is and to-be business processes.
  • Document clear and testable requirements which describe a system which will be implemented.
  • Recommend business process and system changes to improve efficiency and business outcomes.
  • Ensure clear communication between business stakeholders and IT technical teams.
  • Improve the business analysis function through best practices, process management, mentoring, and education.

Education & Special Trainings:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Manufacturing / Operations or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of JDE manufacturing environments and productivity initiatives leveraging JDE preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experiencerequired. Minimum 6 years knowledge of Manufacturing Systems (ERP, MES) required, preferably SAP & Dassault.  
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization structure with significant emphasis on collaboration and persuasion, rather than relying entirely on command and control is required.
  • Experience with process mapping is required in the manufacturing domain, with ability to benchmark processes and identify improvements and quantify benefits.
  • Experience documenting complex processes and presenting them in a clear and understandable format is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with high level business stakeholders and ability to understand, evaluate and recommend changes to business processes is required.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with business representatives at all levels to identify needs, define and document requirements, and drive solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop detailed project requests or charters which include project objectives, success criteria, and requirements.
  • Experience in identifying opportunities for process optimization, process redesign, or development of new process/policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain clear communication channels with IS and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert complex business functions into technical specifications. 
  • Knowledge of JDE manufacturing environments and productivity initiatives leveraging JDE preferred.
