Job Description:

Are you a talented & enthusiastic engineer with a love for evaluating and integrating the latest technology? Do you have experience with electronic devices and connectivity protocols? Would you like to work on state-of-the-art IoT solutions? Then we would like to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run product and component evaluations, and help to create integrated solutions, in the area of IoT (Internet of Things)
  • Evaluate communications and connectivity products against different product/service requirements and standards
  • Design and perform experiments and evaluations
  • Write software where applicable to allow for evaluation of different technologies
  • Work closely with stakeholders internal and external to your team, including customers and suppliers, and communicate results of your investigations to them
  • Document test procedures and observations
  • Maintain a database of tests and results
  • Understand and comply with laboratory environment, health & safety (EH&S) rules
  • Investigate technical feasibility and suggest implementation options
  • Be a liaison between our customer (you and part of our team work on customer premises) and various experts across Mobiliya / Quest

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in the area of IoT (Internet of Things)
  • 5+ years of experience in either developing, testing or integrating systems that include electronic components and communication protocols
  • Working knowledge and experience in wireless communication protocols (e.g. LTE, BLE, 2G, 3G, 4G, IngeNU, LORA, SigFOX, Wi-Fi, etc.) and wired communications protocols (e.g. CAN, LIN, RS422, Ethernet)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Attention to details
  • Professional interaction with customers and third parties
  • Degree in either Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience/training
  • Be a US citizen, green card holder or have existing work visa that permits you to work on site in Hartford, CT

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Java, Python or C++
  • Experience in embedded software development (e.g. programming and testing Raspberry Pi and/or Arduino systems)
  • Experience in mobile app software development
  • Experience in creating scripts to integrate and test solutions
  • Experience and desire to work with agile software development paradigm in a fast-paced, iterative and multi-functional environment
  • Readiness to work in a global team with contributors from different backgrounds, skills and locations
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and change
  • Willingness to learn and slightly stretch beyond your comfort zone
