Position Overview:
Molex seeks an experienced IoT Embedded/Firmware Engineer to join our Network Connected Solutions (NCS) team.

At the Network Connected Solutions (NCS), a unit of Molex LLC, we are creating innovative solutions for the smart building of the future. We’re seeking a talented Firmware Development Engineer to be at the center of fusion of IoT technologies, cloud, and latest in machine learnings and predictive analytics.

We’re creating an advanced sensor-based digital network connected with a tight integration (power, control, and IoT edge & cloud-based data) of IP native devices and legacy building systems to create the smart building of the future. Our solution will create new insights that improve overall building performance, building/space management, substantially increase automation and create new use cases that increase employee productivity and comfort. Our solution is at the forefront of true digital transformation of the building of the future.

In this role, we are looking for an experienced firmware developer to build and maintain firmware for a variety of IoT devices running on ARM and PIC32 processors. The role requires a good understanding of principles of embedded system development and various IoT technologies.
In this role you are a driven, self-starter and require minimal supervision but immensely passionate about personal and professional achievement while solving our customers’ complex business problems. You’ll collaborate with a variety of backgrounds and lead efforts to expand the capabilities of Transcend’s IoT platform and devices.

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience developing firmware
  • Experience developing in C/C++ and at least one scriptinglanguage (JavaScript, Python, Ruby)
  • Experience with ARM Cortex processors required
  • Experience with PIC32 microcontrollers a plus
  • Strong knowledge of serial interfaces and protocols RS485, I2C, SPI, MODBUS
  • Experience with BLE communications
  • Expertise with basic test equipment (DMM, scope, logic analyzer)
  • IoT related protocols development including CoAP/MQTT/AMQP, Websockets, Node
  • Comms/Transport: enOcean, BTLE, Wifi, Mesh
  • Cloud: AWS IoT, Microsoft IoT, Google IoT

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of REST API development
  • Git proficiency: Branching, merging, pull requests, etc.
  • Experience building services for IoT strongly preferred
  • Prior development experience on Linux
  • Lighting/Sensors development in enterprise setting
  • Experience with C# development
