IoT Advisory Service Manager



Job Description

The Hartford Steam Boiler IIC is looking for an IoT Advisory Services Manager to join our growing team.

This is a multi-faceted role where you will work cross-functionally with HSB client management, operations, IoT engineering & product, marketing, and director of risk management teams.

As the Manager, IoT Advisory Services, you will own customer consulting and engagements end-to-end, from client education, portfolio analysis, solution consulting and design, to pilot and production. This is a dynamic, high energy role in which you will bring the Internet of Things expertise to market and building HSB's IoT business and bringing the benefits of sensor system and data to customers. Typical consulting and engagement will also involve multi-faceted terms/ /conditions/pricing negotiations, and selling to executives of HSB insurance clients.

This position is based in our Hartford home office location and will include frequent travel.



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Business with engineering related work experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years experience working with insurance customers in a consulting and support capacity
  • Working knowledge of insurance products, portfolio analytics, and risk management
  • Understanding of the insurance engineering services
  • Previous hands-on experience with customer consulting, solution design, and deployments
  • Consistent track record of deploying complex solutions
  • Experience handling and owning mid-large engagement sizes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; project management skills a plus.
  • Tinkering with hardware gadgets, sensors is a plus
  • Able to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams dealing with technical topics.
  • Time management and multi-tasking abilities needed.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Flexibility to travel


  • MS in business or MBA is desired
  • 8+ years experience working with insurance customers in a consulting and support capacity
