Specific Responsibilities:

The Investor Relations Manager for Apache Corporation will be a vital member of Apache’s Investor Relations team, reporting to the Vice President, Investor Relations.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of overall investor relations strategies and policies;
  • Managing relationships with key sell-side analysts, institutional investors, financial media, and shareholders;
  • Collaborating with IR-Vice President and other executive team members to develop and script quarterly earnings calls/webcasts, news releases and shareholder communication materials as well as other external communications, this role has extensive interaction with the C-suite;
  • Working with other corporate departments and the operating regions to produce communication tools and products, including the annual report, investor kits, fact sheets, and presentations, as well as supporting materials necessary for use with in the investment community;
  • Monitoring company performance relating to investor relations;
  • Analyzing peer company performance and industry trends;
  • Scheduling and coordinating investor relations events such as road shows and site tours; and
  • Traveling occasionally when needed.

Job Qualifications

Professional Qualifications & Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Knowledge of investor relations, including experience consulting for and/or working with oil and gas exploration and production businesses;
  • At least 10 years of experience working for and/or preferred with a large publicly traded energy companies that have worldwide assets and operations, midstream experience a plus;
  • Proven experience writing financial communication documents, press releases, earning call scripts, investor presentations, understanding and experience with SEC disclosure rules and compliance;
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, FactSet and other financialreporting systems and proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Strong understanding of the financial modeling techniques used by security analysts to project a company’s operating and financial performance and the resulting value for stock;
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, management, administrative, organizational, and leadership skills;
  • Experience implementing sound decisions when faced with multi-faceted problems;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate vision, set team goals, strengthen an organization, engage employees, build teams, and develop talent;
  • Ability to take a creative, wider perspective, out of the box thinking approach;
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, investor relations or a related discipline; and
  • An MBA, CFA or comparable post-graduate degree is highly desired.
