The Work Itself
The primary duty of this position is to build, maintain, and expand existing relationships with credit unions as well as establish new relationships to support the sale of investments to Catalyst clients and prospects. The Investment Officer is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships of assigned accounts with the goal of increasing market share within each account, growing overall industry market share for Catalyst and achieving the individual sales goals set by management. Investments include fixed income securities, certificates of deposits, private placements of subordinated debt notes, loan participations, non-member deposit issuance, and other instruments as market conditions support. These duties are achieved through proactive communication to existing clients and prospects through phone calls, emails, virtual meetings, board presentations, onsite visits, and attending events and conferences. Travel represents 10% to 20% of this role.
The Talent You Bring
The Essential Requirements:
a. College Degree - Business
b. 1-3 years' experience in fixed income financial markets or calling on financial institutions.
c. Highly proficient with MS Office Suite, MS Power Suite
d. Detailed knowledge of fixed income products
e. FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities licenses
f. Outstanding oral and written communication and presentation skills
g. Strong relationship building skills
h. Self-Motivated to manage and grow a book of business
Additional skills and experience are a plus:
a. Experience with Salesforce.com
b. Experience with Bloomberg
c. Ability to communicate with senior level executives
d. Familiarity with Credit Union / Bank Balance Sheets
