The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firms books and records, and by contributing to firmwide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanleys various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanleys various businesses and its senior management team.

Responsibilities: - Apply U.S. GAAP to transactions and strategic initiatives to identify accounting issues
- Assist the business units/corporate functions in assessing impacts of evolving standards
- Liaise with Global Advisory & Policy (GAP) group to monitor accounting and regulatory capital policies
- Review of financial statements and assist with disclosure preparation (e.g., 10-K, 10-Q and stand-alone reports)
- Point of contact with internal and external auditors and other outside advisors
- Various ad hoc accounting initiatives 


- 8-10 years of relevant experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting (or equivalent), CPA required
- Strong analytical skills and technical U.S. GAAP knowledge
- Proven ability to execute special projects and strategic initiatives; manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to develop and maintain consultative relationships with various constituents at all levels
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral
- Outstanding attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
