ascena retail group, inc. is currently recruiting for an Inventory Control Manager (accounting) who will be responsible for the management and support of the Inventory Control department, including brand accounts receivable, including monitoring and maintain accuracy and operational compliance with established policies, procedures and service level commitments. The position has GAAP and Sox compliance responsibilities for the areas.

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory accuracy and operational compliance with established policies, procedures and service level commitments while evaluating, documenting and improving the controls governing operational and systematic processes that impact the inventory records for Ascena Retail.

This position has responsibility for monitoring the scheduling and reconciling physical inventories for all locations (i.e. stores, DC, direct, etc.). This includes documentation, reporting, review and compilation of results. Responsible for inventoryreporting to business partners and proactive analysis of inventory trends to provide insights to management.

Duties

  • Month end close, journal entries, and reconciliations. Support for internal audit, external audit and annual bank audit. SOX controls.
  • Physical Inventory, to include prep, set up, reconciliation, analysis, posting results and reporting.
  • Daily support for stores, brands, IT and SSG
  • Weekly Stock Ledger reporting to the brands as well as follow up
  • Ad hoc items, meeting attendance

Requirements

  • Four-yeardegree in Accounting, Finance or Business required, with 3-5+ years supervisory experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; organization and planning ability.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills.
  • Retail inventory control and SOX/GAAP expertise.
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service and must have the ability to multitask on several processes occurring simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of PC systems (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access is required).
  • Island Pacific, SAP and/or RMSexperience
