Essential Roles and Responsibilities

The International Tax Manager or Senior Manager is responsible for providing compliance, planning and consulting services to expatriate and foreign national tax clients as well as multi-generational high wealth families with cross-border businesses and investments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing U.S. federal and state tax returns for U.S. residents, expatriates, and foreign nationals, with reporting requirements related to foreign income, foreign trusts, foreign tax credits, foreign earned income exclusion, foreign assets, controlled foreign corporations, income tax treaties, and repatriation of earnings.
  • Working closely with foreign tax advisors to eliminate or minimize double taxation.
  • Advising employers on payroll and tax matters related to their mobile employees on international assignment and permanent transfers, including tax equalization calculations and related consulting.
  • Assisting with the preparation of IRS Streamlined and Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program (OVDP) filings for clients disclosing foreign assets and income through IRS amnesty programs

Primary work product will include federal and state individual income tax returns, fiduciary income tax returns, gift tax returns, and estate tax returns. Professionals provide timely, high quality services and work products that meet or exceed client expectations. Tax manager will participate in client meetings and collaborate with the team to deliver integrated services to clients. The ability to manage a high volume of deliverables under time constraints is essential.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience providing tax compliance and planning services to high net worth individuals and family groups; experience with expatriate taxation and foreign trust would be a plus.
  • CPA or JD (MST or LLM in Taxation a plus)
