Job Title: Internal Risk and Controls Project Manager 

Location: Herndon, VA or Pensacola, FL  

Duration: 12 months   

The Internal Risk and Controls Project Manager is self-motivated with extensive experience managing a variety of controls for audit related projects with a multi-disciplined and geographically disbursed group. We are looking for a creative and dedicated individual who will simultaneously drive for results and seamlessly integrate with our fast paced business culture. 

We require a strong leader who is capable of managing a large number of ongoing projects and keeping them on track ? meeting deliverable goals within targeted timeframes and budget, identifying and escalating roadblocks, and identifying resource concerns. 

The successful candidate will have: 

  • PMP Certification
  • Knowledge of Risk Management, SOX, and COSO related methodologies
  • Experience managing control-related projects
  • Experience leading audit preparation and response efforts
  • Ability to lead cross-functional project teams (e.g., auditors, technologists, accountants, and process analysts)
  • Strong Microsoft Project skills
  • Experience with audit document quality review
  • Strong team motivational skills and the ability to drive for results
  • Ability to lead projects related to general ledgers, accounting rules engines, and
  • Ability to develop a detailed project plan to track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long term goals
  • Ability to shift project priorities quickly
  • Flexibility to develop various reporting documents/presentations, as required
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Ability to deliver a project on time, within budget and scope
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Ability to thrive under time constraints and deadline pressure
  • Ability being comfortable working with uncertainty
  • Ability to proactively design and lead a project with minimal direction
  • Critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills ? ability to forge and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders
  • Skills to perform risk management to minimize project risks

  • Experience presenting final project results and observations
