This position is responsible for overseeing and managing effective internal communication strategies that inform and educate La-Z-Boy employees, help inspire engagement and drive business results across the organization.
Serves as communications expert, providing a comprehensive understanding of the internal audience, various communication channels available and best practices to ensure key messages are delivered effectively and consistently.
Routinely evaluate programs and their success metrics and adjust plans accordingly.
Develops and implements company-wide internal communication strategies, tactics, schedule and materials to support goals and objectives, and engage employees. Develops a comprehensive internal branding platform to drive consistency across communication channels. Manages timetable for communications, communication channels and supports change management initiatives.
Develops systems and processes to secure internal communications content that is appropriate for achieving business goals, effectively informing employees and fostering alignment.
Serves as main point of contact for functional leads to identify, prioritize and develop high-impact communications plans and tactics.
Sources content, writes material and serves as editor for all employee communications including, but not limited to, corporate social network (Yammer), information screens at the World Headquarters, and manufacturing facilities, news/announcements, event communications, etc..
Leads the planning and execution of the quarterly all-employee business updates. Supports key corporate events with internal/external communications to achieve objectives.
Partners with appropriate team members to ensure voice and tone of all communications is in alignment with brand messaging and image.
Works with senior management team on corporate announcements, keeping all information in the strictest of confidence.
In partnership with senior leadership, Human Resources, and other needed stakeholders, creates a corporate-wide editorial calendar to ensure all areas are represented including supply chain, case goods and retail.
Implements strategies and metrics to measure / monitor communications plans to determine effectiveness. Secures and manages external agency partners to drive creative execution and program implementation, when appropriate.
Three (3) to five (5) years of Supervisor/Leadership experience. Experience in corporate / internal communications. Proactive, self-starter with previous work experience in fast-paced environment with proven ability to execute on-deadline, and on-quality.
Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field with at least 6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent. Master’s degree.
Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully work with various audiences, personalities, and experience levels.
Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously for different audiences.
Up to 20% Travel.
Passion for driving connections between employees and leadership.
Computer proficiency and experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Expert and concise, creative writing skills.
Knowledge of corporate communications best practices.
