NBBJ's Los Angeles office – a dynamic design studio with an award winning Interior Design practice working regionally, nationally and globally – is seeking talented, highly motivated intermediate-level Interior Designer who can work independently and collaboratively with a team to lead the design of high-performance environments.

Working closely with clients, multi-disciplinary teams, and studio design leaders, our project designers are responsible for conceptualizing and integrating ideas into space, expression and experience. The successful candidate will embody strong conceptual design abilities, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and the motivation to engage with the array of NBBJ's resources in achieving high-performance, idea driven, sustainable outcomes.

What you will need to Succeed:

  • 8 to 15 years of professional experience in Interior Design
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
  • Licensed or progressing toward licensure;
  • LEED Accreditation or within 18 months of hire
  • Knowledge of all aspects of interior design including tenant improvement design, space planning, programming, color and material selection, FF&E and vendor and contractor management
  • Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills
  • Previous experience working on complex Healthcare, Hospitality and/or Corporate/Commercial projects in all phases of design
  • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills; effective client relationship skills and talent for working with diverse teams of designers and consultants
  • Proficiency in Revit with 3D modeling skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketchup, Rhino or 3DS Max
  • Experience with interior documentation and detailing, casework detailing and modeling
  • Creation of presentation books and materials
  • Experience with researching, selecting and specifying materials and finishes
  • Experience with furniture selection and specification
  • Experience in coordinating interior design elements including lighting, artwork, environmental graphics, and way finding
  • Ability to coordinate where appropriate with consultants to refine, assess, and locate necessary devices and equipment to achieve high quality design solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, open environment
  • Interest in, and ability to travel to client sites, both domestically and internationally
