Position Summary:

Designs, implements and supports electrical and control systems for well site production batteries, processing facilities such as gas plants, oil terminals and salt water disposal systems.

Interfaces with Operations I&E in support of field operations, maintenance and construction projects.

Supports all aspects of electrical and control system projects with Facilities Engineering team.

Supports field data communications systems, software applications systems, control networks, data acquisition systems, control systems and human machine interfaces.

Works with electrical utilities and REAs to plan and develop electrical infrastructure. Incumbent is viewed as a qualified, fully competent professional and has a strong logical approach to risk assessment and decision making.

Job Duties:

  • Generates, reviews and approves electrical drawing packages (one lines, cable schedules, grounding plans, panel schedules, area classification plans, etc.)
  • Develops Control Narratives and Cause and Effect Matrices for equipment and process system control
  • Interfaces with the IT group, Field Systems Administrators, Automation Foremen and Operators to address needs and systems support
  • Interfaces with the Electrical Systems Manager and Electrician Foremen to address needs and electrical equipment support
  • Provide technical specification content for service and equipment contract implementation
  • Provide analysis of electrical infrastructure and recommend development strategies
  • Generate ideas for discussion, approval and implementation that optimize facility or well performance, maximize oil recovery and reduce cost while supporting company safety objectives
  • Provide overall support to the Operations department to ensure that company safety and business targets are achieved
  • Providing technical support to ensure compliance with EHS requirement
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, document, and communicate appropriate system performance data
  • Develop work scopes, cost estimates, design basis, contracting and procurement strategies, construction drawings, execution plans, work packs, schedules, resource requirements, AFE's, etc to plan and execute projects
  • Lead operational and design Risk Assessments


· B.S. degree in Engineering

· At least eight years of industry experience

· Experience with medium and low voltage electrical systems

· Experience with electrical equipment and electrical rotating machinery in industrial facilities and/or pipelines.

· Experience with Programmable Logic Control Systems and Network Communications

· Experience with Gas Processing Facility Controls and Oilfield SCADA systems

· Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and procedures associated with facilities

· Must be willing to travelDesigns, implements and supportselectrical and control systems for well site production batteries, processing facilities such as gas plants, oil terminals and salt water disposal systems.
