The Department of Pediatrics, Critical Care, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a critical role.
This position offers unique experience in our high-volume Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, for an individual who wishes to pursue a career in pediatric intensive care. The Instructor will work alongside Faculty colleagues, Fellows and advanced level practitioners, in the care of children with chronic and acute illness, acquired heart disease.
The section is responsible for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit on floor 18 of West Tower in Texas Children's Hospital. The CVICU provides care for children with severe illnesses and injuries that require advanced technology such as mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy, and other supportive care.
Essential Function and Duties:
- Day-to-day care of children with heart disease requiring critical care
- Active role in education of trainees
- Supervision of Fellows
- Participation in on-callschedule for the pediatric intensive and progressive care unit
- Liaison and collaboration with stakeholders in PICU, PCU, neonatology, cardiology, and cardiac surgery
Minimum Qualifications: Board Certified/Board Eligible for Pediatrics
Education Requirements: Residency in Pediatrics
