Ohlheiser Corporation is a well-established and respected distributor of automation products and value-added systems; serving New England for 50 years. We provide pneumatic, electrical control, robotic and motion control solutions to manufacturers, OEM’s and system integrators. We are an authorized distributor for some of the premier lines in the industry: SMC, Gast/Jun-Air, Epson Robots, Baumer, Turck, Tolomatic, and others. We are seeking a candidate for industrial automation sales and technical assistance for our customers and outside sales force in our Newington, CT office. This individual should have a strong technical product and sales background in pneumatics, electrical controls, instrumentation, sensors, and some experience with robotics.

  • Will need to identify current and future service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Provides product, service or equipment technical information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares cost estimates by studying drawings, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers and other profession and technical personnel.
  • Develops customer staff by providing technical information and training.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, publications and personal networks. Requirements:
  • 4-year degree or 2-year technical degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electromechanical aptitude.
  • Positive, customer service-minded attitude.
  • Self-motivated and growth minded individual able to work from their home office.
  • Problem solving, product knowledge, technical understanding
  • 3+ years of industrial automation sales experience.
  • Clean driving record.
