Role:

Are you an inspiring Sales Leader? Are you passionate about leading and motivating a sales team? If you answered yes to these questions then Splunk may be the home for you! We are seeking an exceptional and dynamic Sales Leader to join our team as an Inside Sales Manager, Strategic/Field. This is a brand-new position and will report to the AVP of Commercial Sales. In addition to requisite passion, skills and experience, you have a measurable track record in building and leading high performing inside sales teams. You will play a key role in driving a significant share of revenue for Splunk.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will directly lead and coach the sales team and work closely with assigned technical resources. You will consistently deliver aggressive license, support and service revenue targets – dedication to the number and to deadlines. You are a strong mentor and coach and are very hands on with the team and very involved with sales calls, territory/opportunity management, and strategy. In addition you will:

  • Negotiate favorable pricing and terms by selling value and ROI
  • Own responsibility for accurate forecasting on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis. This will require, but not be limited to holding weekly forecast reviews and deal strategy sessions with your team
  • Support various Sales Director in implementing strategic initiatives and promoting a high energy, high activity environment
  • Work extensively with partners for maximum effectiveness and territory expansion
  • Use sales engineering in house as well as partner services resources in a smart way
  • Attract, hire, train, lead/mentor and retain the right team to match our growth
  • Good corporate citizen – two-way flow of meaningful and timely information; work as a team for the most efficient use and deployment of resources
  • Provide timely and insightful input back to other corporate functions, particularly product management and marketing
  • Write performance reviews for direct reports and present to the ISR’s

Qualifications:

  • You have at least 5+ years’ experience building and running front line sales teams; ability to grow and scale upward with the company; second line management experience a plus
  • You have 10+ years direct and channel selling experience with a software company and industry similar to Splunk
  • Reputation for recent and history of success overachieving team quotas while keeping the customer happy
  • You are very comfortable talking to the technical teams, the lines of business and the “C” Suite
  • Strong executive presence, you are polished and strong dedication
  • Forecasting commitments and forecasting accuracy
  • Exceptional management, interpersonal, written and presentation skills
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-growing, rapidly changing environment
  • Relevant software industry experience in IT systems, enterprise or infrastructure management
  • Use CRM systems (Salesforce) extensively
  • Bachelor’s degreepreferred
