Demonstrates a commitment to safety and housekeeping

  • Ensures rigorous compliance to standard safety procedures and OC corporate policies
  • Empowers employees to take responsibility for their own safety and for those around them


  • Attend monthly safety meetings,audits and safety days
    • Manage Standard Operating Procedures, Job Hazard Analysis, and Management of Change documentation for new method development and implementation

  • Direct reports understand their role and how they contribute to the success of the lab and Owens Corning

  • Collaborate with others to drive customer projects and lab innovations

Technical Execution

  • Teams with the Analytical Leaders to help set priorities and project/resource alignment.
  • Advances inorganic testing and method development
  • Has strong working knowledge of instruments and methods utilized in the lab to direct and answer issues as they arise
  • Utilizes the Laboratory Information Management System to establish work flow


  • Lead analyst on methods/instrumentation within the lab for analysis and reporting
  • Partner with Lab Operations Leader to maintain instruments and equipment
  • Continuous improvement of lab processes and methods with 1-2 improvement projects completed per year


Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, or related field of study
  • 8+ years’ experience in a research and development environment
  • People leader who collaborates and fosters teamwork and develops people
  • Inorganic Analytical Instrumentation expertise (ICP-MS, AA, Sulfur/Carbon)
  • Travel: 10-20%

Preferred Qualification

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry, or related field of study

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Solicits diverse views and differing opinions

  • Has technical experience with inorganic raw materials and glasses
  • Uses statistical tools to analyze data
  • Proficient in software such as MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is required
