SUMMARY- the IV Nursing Supervisor/Manager is a licensed Registered Nurse who assumes responsibility and authority for the management, administration and coordination of infusion nursing in the agency in accordance with company standards and policies and state, federal and accrediting body guidelines. The Nurse Manager Is able to coordinate total nursing care for patients in the home setting, with home health agency, participates in teaching patients and significant others medical management; provides leadership by working cooperatively to establish priorities and goals of patient care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Attends work on a regular and predictable basis.
•Directs the activities of the nursing department to ensure that effective safe infusion therapy is delivered to patients in the alternate care site setting patient care needs are met.
•Complies with requirements of the company and ensure that services are provided in a manner consistent with established standards of practice, federal and state regulations, accreditation standards and agency policy.
•Implements and educates staff, patients and referral sources on the care and safe effective administration of home infusion therapy
•Oversees the selection, development, and monitoring of nursing staff.
•Directs the supervision and evaluation of all personnel who provide direct patient care
•Directs all human resource issues related to nursing including recruitment, performance evaluations, and when required, assists the center manager with discipline up to and including terminations.
•Maintains agency compliance with state and federal guidelines for disciplines.
•Participates with nurse liaison, physicians and case managers to determine the suitability of patients for home infusion care
•Coordinates patient care requirements between the home infusion pharmacy, home health agency, hospital, physician office, managed care providers. This includes but is not limited to educating the community and other health providers regarding the services offered by Lincare Infusion, patient caregiver education/hospital discharge visits when required
•Responsible for the coordination of patient services with the pharmacy, delivery, reimbursement and other departments both internally and externally
•Communicates regularly with all departments including administration, billing, intake, pharmacy and the warehouse and delivery personnel
•Provides support and coordinated marketing efforts with sales representative
•Assists with the creation and execution of a nursing care plan for patients who receive nursing care and services from Lincare
•Assists in identifying and verifying the qualifications of outside nursing agencies that participate in the care of Lincare patients and provides education based on needs to ensure that acceptable standards of care are followed.
•Provides educational in-service opportunities to physicians, nurses, pharmacy technicians, and other practitioners on home care infusion-related issues, including competency and orientation programs.
•Coordinates and participates in on-callresponsibilities for the nursing department
•Depending on the circumstances, the Nurse Manager may also perform patient care duties in addition to supervising the nursing staff.
•Coordinates, gathers data and reports all Quality Assurance activities related to the delivery of nursing services
•Enforces and ensures that a Quality Assurance management program for all aspects of patient care is maintained and works with other managers and employees assisting with the collection, analysis, action planning and reporting of patient QA data and statistics.
•Participate in the development and revision of Lincare Infusion Services protocols and evaluate the effectiveness of existing protocols.
•When necessary, assists in the resolution of all patient complaints.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES- Directs the activities of the nursing department and is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all nursing personnel who provide direct patient care. May also oversee activities of other ancillary departments as deemed appropriate by Center Manager.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE- Graduate of an accredited registered nurse education program located in the United States and in the state where employment will commence, or is licensed in another state that has compact reciprocity or is a graduate of a foreign nurse education program that is approved by the State Board of Nursing and has met all state and federal regulatory requirements for registered nurse licensure. Must have at least 1 year of experience in infusion nursing or comparable experience. Prior demonstration of successful management or supervisory experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS- Maintains all certificates, licenses, registrations, Must be a registered nurse with a nursing license in good standing with the State Board of Nursing for which application is being submitted or a compact state with reciprocity. CPR Certification is a requirement. CRNI is preferred, but not required. Maintain a current insurable driver’s license
