Position Profile

This position is primarily responsible for the planning, design, and development of various infrastructure projects which may include major roadways, and ancillary systems such as storm water, wastewater, and water, storm detention facilities, railroads, and ancillary facilities.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

Responsible for planning, design, and development Construction Documents Oversee construction budgets for the following areas: site development, land development, major roadways, and ancillary systems, including storm water, wastewater, and water, storm detention facilities, railroads, and ancillary facilities Continued technical advancement of Hanson's infrastructure engineering practice Procuring infrastructure planning and engineering projects Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or MicroStation/GEOPAK

Soft Skills:

  • Communicating complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and public stakeholders
  • Building effective relationships with internal and external client bases
  • Working independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skills
  • Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (must be ABET accredited engineering program)
  • Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in civil/transportation projects
  • Experience with civil site development and pavement design required
  • Professional Engineer license (TX) or be able to reciprocate a license from another state within 6 months.
  • Project Management experience is a plus

Working Conditions:

  • Collaborate remotely with colleagues in other offices
  • Candidate must be willing to accept out-of-town travel assignments
  • Must be willing to work overtime to meet project demands when needed
