The Information Security Engineer is a critical member of the Global Information Security (Infosec) Team who will be ensuring that Equinix’s networks and systems are adequately protected and that risks are managed appropriately. The candidate will assist in the development and implementation of Information Security programs and initiatives, as well as assist with daily operational security tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, design, develop, implement and/or integrate security solutions which may include, but not limited to SIEM, Vulnerability Management, DLP, Identity and Access Management tools
  • Perform project leadership tasks on select security projects including development of requirements, evaluation of competing products, selection and implementation of products
  • Research emerging technologies in support of security enhancement and development efforts
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for validating and verifying system security designs
  • Assist in formulating securityarchitecture recommendations and design security services
  • Recommends and coordinates the application of fixes, patches, and recovery procedures in the event of a security breach

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or relevant qualification
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in IT and Information Security
  • Broad knowledge of many multiple aspects of information security and networking with specialized product expertise and hands-on experience in many of the following areas: firewalls, proxies, IPS, IDS, VPN, virtualization, identification and authentication technologies, content filtering, DLP, PKI, endpoint security, threat analysis & intelligence will be added advantage
  • Experience with security vendor solutions such as from Palo Alto, Splunk, F5, HP, McAfee, Symantec, TrendMicro, Checkpoint, Cisco, FireEye, RSA
  • Strong knowledge of common operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux, Unix) and authentication (Active Directory) technologies
  • Knowledge of computer networking like TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), IPSec, WANtechnologies (MPLS VPN etc.)
  • Some scripting and programming skills would be preferred
  • Experience doing internal and external penetration testing, i.e. white hat hacking, would be an advantage
  • Record of achievement and technical solution expertise
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to write effective technical proposals and conduct technical solutions presentations to key technical stake holders, including “C” levels
  • Ability to produce high quality technical documentation and detailed solution design documentations
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to the changing demands of the organization
  • Keep abreast of trends and developments throughout the security industry to recommend new solutions that would improve the security posture of the enterprise
  • Strong and resourceful who is outcome-oriented, creative in problem solving, highly skilled at managing and coordinating multiple cross-geographic stakeholders and is comfortable with high-paced environment
  • Displays a positive & ongoing self-development attitude
  • Sets a personal high-performance standard
  • Security Certifications preferred, e.g. CEH, CISSP
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Enterprise Security will be added advantage
