The Information Scientist Supervisor is responsible for Global Knowledge Services' portfolio of externally licensed content and operations at multiple geographic locations. The incumbent leads a team which acquires and manages print and electronic resources (journals, books, databases, etc.), oversees an archive of internal technical information, and administers information discovery tools. This position will ensure ongoing high levels of customer service and contribute to the vision of future information services at Ecolab.

What you will do

  • Manage external content supplier negotiations and renewals for resources and services
  • Build productive relationships with vendors to keep up to date with product enhancements, account manager changes, pricing model or service model changes
  • Partner with Procurement on the review of license agreements
  • Ensure access and discovery of licensed content through effective use of our discovery service, catalog, link resolver, and authentication technologies
  • Oversee document delivery and affiliated systems
  • Lead projects to streamline internal processes
  • Contribute to budget planning process
  • Propose, develop, and implement departmental procedures and tools, as needed
  • Provide guidance to internal clients on copyright compliance
  • Manage multiple direct reports

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 8-10 years library and/or information services experience, or:
  • Master's Degree in Library and/or Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution plus 4-6 years experience
  • Experience managing scientific, technical, and medical (STM) content and resource subscriptions for an organization
  • Experience managing a team
  • Experience leading projects to streamline processes and identify, analyze, and solve problems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a corporate library information center
  • Experience administering e-resources within integrated library systems (ILSs), knowledge bases, e-resource management systems, or third-party discovery systems
  • Experience managing proprietary materials such as laboratory notebooks and internal technical reports
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint
  • Ability to work independently with strong results orientation
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Customer-service focused
