As an Information Scientist within PNC's Asset Management and PNC Investments organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland or Columbus, OH.
 
PNC’s MIS Organization is seeking a hands-on Big Data Information Scientist to build a data lake supporting Asset Management (AMG) and PNC Investments line of business.
 
As an Information Scientist you will support projects aligned to AMG Data Strategy and advanced analytics initiatives.

  • Evaluate the current data and analytics platform
  • Propose new target state architecture design
  • Establish analytics ecosystem map and data value chain
  • Develop data model

 
You will lead the implementation of the advanced analytics platform and execute on the strategy to establish an AMG Data repository, you will assist with the data extraction, data transformation, data enrichment, data cleansing, data reporting/analytics within PNC’s Hadoop and Teradata environments. You will use agile principles and practices. You will identify strategic opportunities to design, implement and deploy big data solutions as it relates to data streaming, ingestion, transformation, apply machine learning algorithms to develop model that will predict future business outcomes.
 
PreferredQualifications

  • Lead development projects and development teams utilizing agile methodology.
  • Experience with Batch/ETL
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database constructs
  • Experience with transactional and dimensional data modelling
  • Ability to interact with Enterprise Architecture and technology vendors and influence solution design adhering to industry standard.
  • Experience with Cloudera Big Data platform: Hadoop, HBASE, HDFS, MapReduce, Pig, Hive, Sqoop, Spark, Kafka, Flume
  • Experience with consumption layer data security and data masking/encryption.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and developing Machine learning algorithms using languages such as Python, SAS, Java/Javascript, R, Scala etc
  • Familiarity on rapid exploration using structured and unstructured data from real time or random sampling, establish hypothesis and visualizing in OBIEE, Tableau etc.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods and data science techniques such as regression analysis, Time series, classification, decision tree algorithms, Bayesian methods etc.
  • Understanding with CICD technologies such as GitHub, Jenkins etc
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information and recommendation in a clear and concise manner to PNC senior management and Line of Business partners.

RequiredEducation and Experience


Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
