Who We Are
Twitter’s Information Quality efforts are on the cutting edge of a wide range of issues affecting the internet today — from combating spam and computational propaganda, to building new tools to keep the world informed during major events. The Trust & Safety (T&S) team is looking for an experienced, proactive Information Quality Policy Specialist to collaborate with teams across the company to develop policies, enforcements, and product solutions to tackle some of the biggest challenges in tech.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be responsible for researching, drafting, and leading the implementation of policies covering a variety of critical issues impacting user trust, including spam, automation, and fake accounts. You’ll partner with engineering, product, and design to drive improvements in Twitter’s search, trends, and relevance systems — and advocate for the user by understanding, predicting, and communicating the projected impacts of new product changes across Twitter’s diverse user base. And you’ll serve as the primary point of contact for high-level Information Quality escalations, including leading rapid response efforts by teams across the company to prevent the abuse of Twitter’s platform around critical public events.
Who You Are
Successful candidates will be analytical, self-motivated, and have a knack for managing multiple complex projects efficiently.
You have a deep understanding of online safety, privacy, and expression issues. Specific experience with anti-spam, a plus.
You have a proven track record of owning and successfully completing cross-functional projects from planning to implementation.
You have exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
You work well under pressure, and can promptly engage with new and complex problems to identify and implement solutions.
You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and adapting to the needs and work styles of other teams and organizations.
5+ years experience working on content policy, anti-spam, safety, public policy, and/or security issues for a major tech company
University degree or equivalent professional experience (advanced degreepreferred but not required)
Proficiency with SQL, or equivalent skills for working withquantitative data
Potential exposure to sensitive or graphic content, including but not limited to vulgar language, violent threats, pornography and other graphic images.
