The highly skilled and motivated Information Management/Knowledge Management Specialist will join a high-performance team and provide support to the US Space Command (USSPACECOM) J6 in the field Information Management/Knowledge Management. As an Information/Knowledge Management Specialist, you will create, update, and dispose of everything from educational and mission essential training manuals to managing the flow, distribution, life cycle and information integral to USSPACECOM. Support IM/KM activities/events for USSPACECOM J6
Services include all activities associated with organizing, maintaining, and sharing data, information, and knowledge to ensure authoritative information availability across the staff at all classification levels, including releasable, and to the warfighter at the speed of need.
Perform/manage a variety of communications and information management (IM) tasks and activities including staff support, publishing, records, administrative communications, and workgroup management (information systems and technology support)
Remove and replace components and peripherals to restore system operation; install and configure software operating systems and applications
Responsible for working with local and external IM/KM representatives to ensure policy and tool implementation and execution across the command, and to advise and assist with IM/KM policies, ensuring that they are compliant with DoD requirements and industry best practices
Collaborate with the Common IT team to design, create, implement, and maintain technical IM/KM solutions
Experience performing functions such as office management; publications and forms management; or preparing, controlling, and processing written communications
Experience performing or supervising functions such as distributing messages; planning and programming; document security; records management; publications and forms; or preparing, monitoring, controlling, and processing electronic communications
Degree in Information Technology or related field
Security + certified mandatory
US Citizenship and an Active DoD TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position
Planning and coordinating the complete life-cycle of organizational data and information assets, including enterprise information management, technologies, information security, and knowledge operations
Educational background in business, mathematics, computer science, or information systems.
Experience or knowledge of collaboration/web service applications; information architectures; records management; and knowledge management principles.
Experience performing or supervising knowledge management planning functions such as applying knowledge management principles, solutions, and technologies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Air Force organizations.
