The primary purpose of this Program is to study, analyze, provide advice, research, and develop deliverables to advance scientific and technical information (STI) through the application of knowledge and resources in achieving the requiring activity's mission requirements defined herein.
The objective of this effort is to analyze, develop, and implement modern technologies into the Marine Corps Enterprise Network in order to increase the effectiveness and lethality of Marine Corps operating forces. Marine Corps information systems and technologies that may be researched, developed, analyzed or implemented as part of this TAT include Marine Corps Enterprise Information Technology Services (MCEITS), Cost-to-Run-a-Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) (C2RAM), Secure Operational Network Infrastructure Communications (SONIC), Force Synchronization Playbook, and Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN).
Efforts under this Program will support:
- Unification of multiple disparate networks that will eliminate the complexity of mobilization and deployment by maximizing one network with common standards, services, and security across the Marine Corps
- Development of a more resilient force and survivable systems, no longer reliant on a single technological capability
- Enhanced ability for all elements of the Marine Corps Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) to be able to quickly collaborate and communicate across common hardware and system platforms
- Maximized expeditionary capabilities that allow the Marine Corps to find innovative methods to integrate with Naval and Joint forces by extending shipboard networks and leveraging airborne Command and Control (C2) assets.
The Information Assurance Specialist establishes and satisfies complex system-wide informationsecurity requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands. Supports customers at the highest levels in the development and implementation of doctrine and policies.Applies expertise to government and commercial common user systems, as well as to dedicated special purpose systems requiring specializedsecurity features and procedures. Examples could include command and control-relatednetworks.Responsibilitiesfor the Information Assurance Specialist II:
- Analyze alternative implementation cloud computing strategies to support technology modernization approaches for security enhancements to information sharinginfrastructures. Design and implement traditional and centralized distribution mechanisms, peer-to-peer and torrents, advanced search strategies and algorithms, and next generation technologies for multi and cross domain infrastructures for distributed cloud computing

- IA Specialists must be trained as information system security validators and information system security engineers (ISSE) with a minimum achievement of Level One as Navy Qualified Validators (NQV), which includes appointments and cybersecurity certifications for RMF functions.
- IA Specialists must possess knowledge of assessment tools (e.g., ACAS, SCAP, HBSS) and RMF process tools (e.g., MCCAST, eMASS, eArcher, VRAM and DITPR-DON/DADMS).
- Must have a current TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field
- 10 - 15years of experience as an Information System Security Engineer.
