Travelers Business Insurance is looking for an Information Architect who loves to collaborate on teams creating strategic solutions. This person will need to be a strategic thinker with the ability to breakdown a problem and strategically solve based on architectural best practices and standards. It is critical that they understand how data and information can be used to solve problems within Business Insurance. Candidates should be able to quickly learn our business environment and be a self- driven individual with excellent communication skills.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and communicate technology point of views this includes a strong understanding of :
- Fit for purpose
- Suitable use cases
- Technical architecture
- Product differentiation
Advocate usage of specific technologies, gain acceptance and track maturity
Develop and adopt information architecture standards and best practices as part of a mature reference architecture
Build important relationships with team members across the enterprise
Be an important part of the overall data governance process through engaging on solution reviews to providing valuable process improvements
Ability to co-develop comprehensive data solutions as part of larger project teams, this includes a strong understanding of the following:
- Relational and non relational technologies
- Analytical data patterns
- Modeling constructs : relational and schema
- Understand data interchange formats
- Data flow diagrams
Be able to articulate more advanced architectural concepts such as polyglot persistence as it applies to Data management systems.
Ability to work in an agile development environment
High School diploma or equivalent required. 1 year of technology related experience required.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. 2 years of product/project management and/or Software Development Life Cycle preferred.
