We seek an outstanding Industry Lead, Retail to join the new Global Vertical Team within our Global Agency and Top Accounts organization. The team plays a critical role in developing senior business relationships and partnerships with the world’s biggest agencies and brands. Reporting directly into the Global Head of Verticals, this role will require the right candidate to develop and eventually manage Spotify’s 1st Retail Vertical Team.
Our Vertical Heads (across CPG, Auto, Entertainment, Tech & Retail) act as the knowledge centers for the direct sales teams providing category level expertise, insight and solutions to vertical based challenges. Whilst also managing and supporting global account leads in delivering best in-class partnerships and solutions to Spotify’s largest advertisers business needs.
At the heart of this team is a philosophy of consultative sales that anticipates the business needs of Spotify’s largest advertisers and delivers measurable solutions. You will help cultivate this philosophy.

What you’ll do:
Build a ‘ground-up’ comprehensive business vertical strategy that aligns to overall company and advertising goals
Develop and maintain C-level relationships to expand vertical presence and explain the power of Spotify’s platform across key industry segments
You will become the lead story teller to Retail vertical industries and educate teams on vertical opportunities and best practices
Cultivate the development of Retail industry thought leadership for Spotify’s advertising business
Develop a solution based approach to tackling vertical based advertiser business, marketing and communication challenges
Work with sales leadership to establish/set strategic objectives that maximize business impact
Consult with local/regional sales leadership to enhance category level positioning and engagement in their markets.
Act as an Industry voice within the advertising marketplace (i.e panels, presentations etc)
Who you are:
Yoy have a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or business related subject
You have a minimum 10 years of experience in marketing, consultancy, agency, client or media sales
You have Retail Client side, relevant publisher/platform experience or senior agency (with a retail brand) experience preferable
You have experience of managing global client business across this vertical preferable
You are highly strategic with strong analytical skills; experience using quantitative and qualitative data
You are highly motivated and entrepreneurial
You have strong personal organization and project management abilities
You are energetic and willing to thrive in a start-up atmosphere
You are an excellent communication with exceptional interpersonal skills (you’ll be working closely with senior internal and external leadership)
