The Industrial-organizational (IO) psychologist uses statistical principles, research and psychological methods to solve problems in the workplace. They focus on organizational and employee working styles that improve productivity and moral in the workplace. An I O Psychologist also administers, evaluates and interprets psychological testing; writes, monitors and coordinates behavior management plans with the workplace; and serves as a coach to the organization.

Essential Functions

  1. Administers evaluates and interprets required psychological testing.
  2. Executive and Management assessment for hiring and promotions.
  3. Hourly pay employee selection.
  4. Statistical analysis as it relates to test construction and validation.

  3. Ethical Conduct.
  4. Personal Effectiveness/Credibility.
  5. Problem Solving/Analysis.
  6. Thoroughness.
  7. Computer skills - proficient in Excel, Word, Sky Drive

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The IO psychologist will be trained and instructed in the field. 

Work Environment

This individual will work in a business environment with no clinical or medical association. The employee will have frequent interaction with persons in the workplace.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with primarily daytime hours Monday through Friday.

Required Education and Experience

Ph.D. with a concentration in I O Psychology, or Experimental Psychology, or Ph.D. in statistics and psychology.

Preferred Education and Experience 

Will consider recent grad in above programs that have completed their dissertation process
