Description The Industrial Control System (ICS) Network Consultant is a subject matter expert in the areas of network design and security. Technical responsibilities include development, implementation, configuration and support. This senior level role also is responsible for working directly with clients to identify needs and opportunities for advanced network infrastructure. Additional responsibilities include leading technical project teams and mentoring staff.   Responsibilities:

  • Assess existing clientnetworks, including:
    • Network Diagrams
    • Installed Asset Review
    • Cyber Security Evaluation
    • Network Loading and Segmentation
    • Existing NetworkStatistics
    • Network Gap Assessment
    • Network Upgrade roadmapping
  • Develop and implement plans for modifying and improving equipment, new software installation, adding or changing devices and users, and establishing authorized access as in:
    • NetworkArchitecture
    • Fiber, Copper and Wireless
    • Network Levels and Segmentation
    • Performance Improvement
    • Virtualization
    • Remote Access
    • Access Control
    • Security
    • Testing and Validation
  • Assure technical accuracy and soundness ofengineering and technical practices based on sound design criteria, specifications, and standards as related to the project requirements. Amongothers, this includes standards such as:
    • ISA99/IEC62443
    • ISA TR84.00.09
    • NERC CIP
    • NIST SP800-82
  • Provide technical leadership on project teams in conjunction with project management and division personnel.
  • Review and assists in the development of division standards and methods
  • Act as a technical consultant in ICS Networking and Manufacturing Systems Infrastructure, providing expertise as required. This includes keeping up to date on the latest developments in products and technologies
  • Assist other engineers and technical staff in problem solving, troubleshooting, and application of industrial control devices
  • Maintain and develop assigned Client relationships, to assist in maintaining repeat project work


  • Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related degree, preferably from an ABET accredited college or university
  • Minimum 12years of experience in control network design and security in the Industrial Process Automation industry
  • Prior experience in food and beverage manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, specialty chemical, and pharmaceutical industries preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of project leadership experience
  • Additional training and/or certification in Cisco and IMINS is strongly preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of the network standards mentioned above
  • Ability to travel, both locally and overnight, approximately 20-25% throughout the year
