Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Sales Manager will be to manage day to day sales activities, and strategically drive profitable sales growth and market share within the Warehouse Distributor channel of customers, as well as expand to new customer accounts within the position’s sales territory.

The candidate will be responsible for representing our Independent Aftermarket (IAM) business and brands with our customers and focus on understanding their current and future needs. This is a field sales position covering the territory west of the Mississippi. There is minimum 60% travel domestically to support this position with remainder of time spent in home office.

Core Responsibilities:
• Manage customer sales activities, forecasting / budget planning, and meeting profitability targets
• Manage, develop and strengthen customer relations
• Manage new part number / product introduction process
• Proactively sell and promote a broad range of Continental products and services
• Develop, build and cultivate effective long­term relationships with key management within customer organizations
• Serve as Continental representative for local and national trade show events and activities
• Serve as point of dissemination and follow­thru for communications, issues/challenges, problem solving/resolutions
• Regular & consistent customer field sales calls and support activity
• Negotiate account­specific contracts, pricing, returns, special allowances, etc as required to sustain and expand business opportunities
• Coordinate with other company key departments (Finance, Product Management, Customer Service, etc) to ensure successful cooperation & accomplishment of company & customer goals.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Work with management to help guide the development and execution of strategic account plans to ensure achievement of assigned business goals. Assist management in devising sales plans and strategies.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in automotive aftermarket sales experience or 10+ years of sales experience in lieu of a degree
• Must be able to travel 60%

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a sales/technical related discipline (Business, Finance, Engineering, Automotive, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of the Automotive Aftermarket & its distributionchannels.
