I&E Engineering Lead - RA

Houston, TX

Position: Major Tasks

• Lead project PCT teams consisting of engineering and design personnel

• Responsible for planning and supporting all phases of capital investment projects including concept development, estimating, basic engineering, detailed engineering and design, procurement, and construction and start-up of new or modified production facilities

• Accoun for adherence of practices, standards, guidelines, and

procedures for preparation of estimates, scopes, specifications,

design, and other deliverables

• Responsible for all I&E/PCT aspects of engineering to ensure all

project objectives including safety, technical correctness, budget,

constructability, schedule, maintainability, and operability are met

• Interface with otherengineering disciplines/departments, customers

and vendors/suppliers to ensure successful development and execution of


• Generate, review and approve I&E/PCT specifications, drawings and

other documentation assist in compiling construction packages

• Coordinate field support, and participate in check out, commissioning

and start up

• Modify existing or create new process I&E/PCT procedures, standards

and practices to stay current with technology and implement improved


Soft Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written skills in order to communicate with and

obtain cooperation from team members involved with engineering, design,

check out, commissioning and start-up. Demonstrated ability to write

comprehensive technical and scope documents required for project


• Willingness and ability to travel20-40% of time when job assignment


• Willingness and ability to work additional hours when job assignment


• Willing to pursue advanced education (i.e. Master’s Degree) other

certifications, and training when job assignment dictates.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Submission Summary)

1• BS 8+ years experience

MS2-6+ years experience

PhD 0-4years experience

2. Professional registration and/or certification as appropriate.

3• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university (or

equivalent) in Electrical or Chemical engineering with strong interest

in PCT systems

4• Eight and more years minimum experience in chemical or petro-chemical

facilities in I&E/PCT design and engineering or equivalent experience

5• Excellent knowledge of PCT documentation, automation validation,

quality assurance, etc.

6• Excellent knowledge of process control strategies and systems

7• Excellent knowledge of building automation and safety systems and

industrial control networks

8• Knowledge of low/medium/high voltageelectrical systems

9• Strong computer hardware and software skills

10• Excellent knowledge of relevant national and international standards

in the area of process control, low voltageelectrical, and


11• Knowledge of project control skills including project planning,

scheduling, cost control, and contract development

12• Experience in providing field support and participating in check out,

commissioning, and start-up of process control installations

13• Systematic approach to problem definition and solution development

14• Ability to work as a member of cross-functional teams and to

participate in multiple projects simultaneously

15• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to deal with people at

different levels of management, engineering and design, and with

internal customers (e.g. engineering, maintenance, operations) and

suppliers of PCT material and services
