Overview

To formulate HR objectives, practices, and policies to meet short and long-range organizational needs and opportunities, to guide and lead the change process, and to evaluate HR’s contributions to organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a strategic and consultative business partner to client organizations in order to ensure effective alignment of HR support with strategic organizational objectives.
  • Assists client in improving organizational effectiveness by analyzing departmental structures and evaluating options, studying resources and ensuring optimal utilization, assessing employee climate, morale and effectiveness and developing action plans to improve these areas.
  • Monitors employee relations within assigned client organization for developing or actual trends and assists client management with addressing issues and resolving conflicts.
  • Coaches and counsels managers on employee relations issues and delivers effective and practical learnings and solutions.
  • Investigates, resolves and responds with empathy to all employee complaints filed.
  • Interprets, recommends and effectively communicates HR practices, policies, procedures and initiatives, and makes practice change recommendations.
  • Plans and directs implementation of policies and procedures to ensure consistent delivery of Human Resources team member services and programs.
  • Engages clients in workforce planning, identifying talent gaps and risk, and developing strategy for meeting talent needs.
  • Supports quality sourcing and talent selection by understanding position requirements, partnering effectively with recruiting team and hiring managers.
  • Guides clients in establishing performance and development goals, and provides individualized, direct, actionable and corrective feedback.
  • Holds development discussions and clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions.
  • Leads by taking calculated risks, championing innovative ideas to gain support and manage through change.
  • Anticipates risks, outcomes and consequences and develops plans to manage/mitigate them.
  • Uses analysis and experience to link problems and symptoms to identify underlying root cause.
  • Uses broad knowledge, logical thought progression, methods and theories to address and resolve complex issues.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change due to operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in HR or related field. MBA or Masters desired.
  • SHRM AND/OR HRCI certification is desirable.
  • 5-7 years exempt level HR experience, preferably in a service business with distributed operations.
  • Experience in a labor organized environment preferred.
  • Has confidence and good platform skills to successfully roll out and facilitate any educational or developmental programs and initiatives.
