The HSE Director provides Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) oversight, guidance, and support to site management at each manufacturing facility via ownership of HSE Management Systems and direct management of facility HSE professionals. Also provide insight, advisement, and counsel to production leaders on topics including: safety culture development and individual site alignment, and site capabilities (people and equipment), regulatory compliance and emerging HSE issues. Be the primary owner of packaging division HSE Policies and Management Systems.


Administer packaging division HSE programs for Process Safety Management, Personal Safety and Environmental Compliance to achieve continuous improvement and process and performance stability
Manage and serve as the principal liaison between the company and various government and regulatory agencies or other external stakeholder groups
Communicate with facility management teams at Calumet's manufacturing packaging facilities, in a manner that supports, safe work practices, HSE Regulatory Compliance and continuous improvement and uniformity in HSE practices among all of the facilities
Provide support, oversight and guidance to HSE professionals as each site as the direct supervisor to the Health & Safety and Environmental Site Managers. Provide input regarding personnel performance as requested or needed. Assist with career development and overall packaging division HSE Capability
Evaluate the adherence and conformance with facility permits, government regulations, and HSE Policies
Work with senior operations leadership, other corporate departments and the facilities in managing risks to the company
Monitor energy regulatory issues and industry trends to ensure sustained performance compliance


Bachelor’s Degree
3+ years of relevant experience at divisional level


Advanced written and oral communication skills


Engineering, Chemistry or other relevant sciences
Understanding of petrochemical and manufacturing businesses, processes, and operations from a HSE perspective
Operational knowledge is helpful
