What You'll Do

  • Operate effectively within a highly matrixed environment to deliver subregional talent strategies and impact across multiple product lines and functions
  • Use data and insights to facilitate leadership in thinking through interaction models, roles and responsibilities of the workforce, and organizational design aligned to broader US/CAN as well as global direction from business leaders
  • Deliver on initiatives and goals through thoughtful organizational planning and project management
  • Implement, facilitate, and manage core HR programming, policies and procedures within subregion (to include but not limited to performance management, compensation, benefits and rewards, development programs, and change management)
  • Serve as a strategic consultant to the business through trusted partner relationships with the subregional leadership
  • Serve as a liaison between the business and central people team functions; articulate business strategic priorities for people initiatives back to the central teams to ensure centralized programs and policies are built in support of the business
  • Participate, partner, or lead on strategic people initiatives for Uber working across the business, people leadership and project teams to deliver
  • Participate as part of the US/CAN HR Business Partner team sitting across the region in hub locations and supporting cross functional organizations (HRBPs in region provide on the ground support in a matrixed environment across Ridesharing, Eats, Freight, Corporate and Engineering)
  • Effectively work and operate in a matrixed team to partner with peer HR leadership responsible for US and Canada Eats, Freight, Corporate and Engineering to ensure understanding of differentiations in talent strategy, people initiatives, and key projects

 What You'll Need

  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in human resources consulting, functional HR team role, or HR Business Partnership
  • Strong understanding of, and familiarity with developing and implementing, HR programs including compensation, performance management, and leadership development
  • Understanding of various employment laws and regulations across the US and Canada
  • A track record of providing effective HR consultation to leadership on strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to partner within and outside of HR as well as work effectively in a highly matrixed environment
  • Unquestioned integrity; resolve, presence, and sureness. Excellent influencing skills at all levels in the organization and flexibility to be proactive in a fast-paced, ever changing environment. Proficiency in making timely, effective, ethics-based decisions
  • Desire to build, comfort with ambiguity, and easily adaptable to change required
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, must be an articulate and persuasive communicator including excellent presentation skills; analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Bachelor’s degreerequired, Master’s degreepreferred
