Serves as a business information and data processing expert for the Health Plan Services Department. Understands and analyzes complex data from multiple sources, develops and supports reports/analytics, develops and supports ETL processes, performs application installation and administration, supports business processes, and performs ad-hoc queries to drive business decisions. Regularly completes detailed testing and audits to insure quality. Projects include the use of SQL, Excel, analytics software packages, and other query and programming tools. Functions as a business consultant and mentor to others needing insights to information by understanding their key business needs/opportunities and utilizing expertise with data models and analytics to deliver solutions.
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics; or the equivalent of an additional 8 years of experience in a comparable job. Background in Statistics as gained though advanced college courses or work experience.
Technical experience required: 2 years or more experience developing solutions with modern reporting and/or analytics tools like Qlik, Tableau, Crystal, etc.; and experience installing business applications and managing the rollout out of new versions.
Business and analysis experience required: minimum 6 years business experience; minimum 4 years data analysis; proven experience interpreting data using analytics to influence decisions; experience conducting requirement gathering and presentations with business partners; proven experience collaborating in a team environment to deliver solutions; proven ability to manage and deliver solutions in an environment with multiple priorities; experience leading a project team; and proven track record using test plans and other methods to insure quality of data outputs and information insights.
Preferred experience: 1 year or more experience using Qlik or other Analytics tools; 1 year or more experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio; database design experience; programming skills using Visual Studio and Visual Basic; 1 year or more experience with or Health Claims data; experience setting up IIS Web Applications; experience with ETL or EDI mapping including rules to manage data cleansing; experience with SQL Agent; and experience with Windows Task Scheduler.
