The Systems Engineer is a key member of the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) team responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining high performance, highly available, secure applications in a cloud hosted environment for the various Mediware business units. The Systems Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for the Hypervisor environment, Storage Area Network (SAN), XenApp/Citrix Administration, Microsoft Windows/Windows Clustering, SQL maintenance scripts and Active Directory (AD) including and overseeing the administration of production and non-production environments, assessment and implementation of new technologies, and providing Information Technology with a long-term perspective on the hosted network to the business opportunities facing the company. The Systems Engineer will work with architecture, application development and operations to help achieve a state-of-the-art environment that meets current and future business objectives.
Principal Functions of the Job
Development and maintenance of scripts using Linux shell scripting (Bash, Python, Java etc.)
Other tools for the purposes of automating routine system administration tasks or optimizing delivery of hosted product infrastructure.
Maintain the health and performance of the IaaS/internal networks, servers, SAN, and supporting hardware equipment, including server hardware configuration, firmware upgrades, security and operating system patches, software, telephony equipment, and communication links other software maintenance such antivirus software, security tools, including installation, network performance monitoring, maintenance, support and timely problem resolution.
Configuration and maintenance of Hypervisor environment (Dell, NAS, FreeNAS, EqualLogic, Cisco, UCS etc).
Creation and maintenance of documentation as it relates to system builds and configurations, system administration, associated processes, policies, including business continuity and disaster recovery.
Installation, configuration and management of storage area network (SAN) environment in production/development environments, assuring correct capacity, optimal configuration and availability.
Participate in hosting production change management process and on call duties.
Participate in the training and/or mentoring programs as assigned or required.

Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with 3 years related experience or 5+ years of related experience and / or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.achelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
Minimum 3 years System Engineer work experience that includes supporting
Hypervisor Environment (Dell, NAS, FreeNAS, EqualLogic, Cisco, UCS etc.)
Storage Area Networks/arrays including fiber channel, ISCSI, SAS
Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS), Windows Server, PostGreSQL
Previous experience developing, and maintaining scripts in Linux using bash, Python, Java and other languages
Experience managing, backing up, maintaining and provisioning servers (R-Sync, Automated Server Deployments etc.)
Ability to evaluate and configure new technical platforms as necessary to meet the needs of the SaaS environment
Self-motivated and directed, with a high level of attention to detail
Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in Information Technology and ability to establish guidelines
Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills
Ability to lead and/or act as part of a team in a customer-driven, fast-paced environment
Must be practical, dependable, reliable, courteous and prompt with a strong work ethic
HIPAA and healthcare business practice knowledge
Knowledge of software development processes and web applications.
