The Hospitalist provides medical care for patients; and facilitates transition of care at discharge from thehospital by communicating a summary of the hospital course, discharge medications, pendingdiagnostic studies, and follow-up instructions to the primary care provider and pertinent consultants. TheHospitalist assumes responsibility for comprehensive patient care to assure that the health care needs ofpatients are being met, including attendance at Interdisciplinary or nursing rounds and daily communicationwith the team caring for the patient; renders quality medical services according to qualifications as aninternal medicine or family practice physician with appropriate referrals, follow-up and hospitalization; supports hospital medical staff and other area physicians utilizing the Hospitalist service by overseeingthe inpatient experience, including providing follow-up care for patients in the outpatient realm; communicates health status and treatment plan to patient, family and hospital staff; documents information completely for patient care and billing purposes; assists in the review of work flow, office practices and objectives; and teaches medical students, residents and others in graduate health education programs.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need thefollowing:

  • Doctorate of Medicine required
  • Current Physician License in the state of Colorado required
  • Current BLS or ACLS from the American Heart Association required
  • Other certifications may be required depending on practice setting or credentialing requirements

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
