Mazars USA, LLP is the independent U.S. member firm of Mazars Group, one of the largest global tax, audit and consulting firms. We are seeking experienced individuals with previous healthcare and/or consulting experience to join our rapidly expanding Healthcare Consulting Group. Mazars’ clients include health plans, risk-bearing organizations, academic medical centers, integrated health systems, community hospitals and large physician practices. Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a highly collaborative environment within the healthcare consulting group
  • Provide analytical, planning, coordination, and implementation support to activities and projects identified by Mazars leadership
  • Manage the day to day responsibilities of client engagements
  • Analysis of financial data and development of contracting strategies including value based payments, shared savings and global risk arrangements
  • Interpret and communicate contract language and reimbursement terms
  • Negotiate reimbursement rates, payment terms and language that are acceptable and approved by clients
  • Incorporate new state and federal regulations and industry standards into contract language
  • Responsible for maintaining positive client relationships and performing all consulting engagements to the highest quality standards
  • Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously and achieve successful results
  • Track and monitor project work plans, including objectives, tasks and time frames to ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Participate in the design and delivery of presentations on project status and outcomes to management and client
  • Takes a flexible, team player approach, willing to “pitch in” whenever and wherever needed
  • Assist with tracking implementation and monitoring effectiveness of organizational changes, including designing analytical approaches, data collection and analysis, report writing, tracking project tasks, and helping to ensure the overall success of the department
  • Assist in the development of proposals; develop methodologies, tools, and techniques for use by the team on future assignments; identify opportunities to expand our consulting presence at existing clients

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from a healthcare related field (MBA, MHA, MPA, MPP) preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of managed care experience required, either at a managed care organization or health system
  • Experience analyzing data for a healthcare entity; strong knowledge of claims and membership data is a plus
  • Knowledge of Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Health Benefit Exchange Products and Accountable Care Organizations
  • Understanding of Payment Methodologies e.g. DRGs, APGs, APCs and Medicare Physician Fees
  • Familiarity with Alternative Payment Arrangements (e.g. Shared Savings, Risk, Capitation and Value Based Contracts
  • Contracting experience with Specialty Services including Behavioral Health, Dental, Outpatient Rehab, Home Care, IVF and Transplants is desirable
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project; general technological aptitude
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong project management and leadership abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
